Summer’s second Saturday Mornings at SNC (formerly Senior Saturdays), the award-winning joint offering of Sierra Nevada College and Incline Village Parks & Recreation Senior Programs, will be held on Saturday, July 17th.

Contemporary ceramics is exploding.  Be part of this exciting movement by taking part in a new exhibition to showcase works by accomplished ceramic artists from across the U.S.A.

In cooperation with Sierra Nevada College’s undergraduate departments, the college’s Teacher Education program has developed a dual enrollment program that leads to both a bachelor’s degree and a teaching license at the Incline campus. This accelerated program will help students realize their dreams of becoming both a college graduate and a working teacher in the time it normally takes to complete the bachelor’s degree alone.

Laura Woodman, a recent McQueen High School graduate, has been awarded an annual art scholarship from Sierra Nevada College in the amount of $12,500 (totaling $50,000 over a four-year period), announced SNC Chair of Fine Arts Sheri Leigh O’Connor. Woodman, who graduated from McQueen High School this spring, will enter SNC in fall 2010 as a Fine Arts major with a concentration in Photography.

Sierra Nevada College has awarded a full-tuition scholarship (in the amount of $24,000 per year for four years) to Lake Tahoe Community College art graduate Karl Schwiesow, announced SNC Chair of Fine Arts Sheri Leigh O’Connor.

South Africa is expecting upwards of 300,000 visitors during the month-long World Cup. And 33 Nevada college students will be in the middle of it all.

Luke Andraka, a student at North County's Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) magnet program, won the "Genius Scholarship" from Sierra Nevada College during the competition this month.

College graduation often is a bittersweet affair for students, who on one hand are eager to embark upon the next phase of their lives while simultaneously reluctant to bid farewell to the many friends they have accrued during their respective experiences.
