Building for the Future...Ours and Yours

Sierra Nevada College’s Lake Campus has six buildings — two residence halls, a dining hall, a library, an administrative center for student services, and the Tahoe Center for the Environmental Sciences, a world-class center for research and education designed to support programs that help protect the quality and future of environmentally-threatened lakes and watersheds.

Prim Library

Prim Library

The Prim Library opened in August 2004. It holds more than 45,000 books, documents, and other items from the former MacLean Library with additional new resource materials.

Faculty offices and classrooms have direct Ethernet or wireless access to the campus network. The residence halls also have direct Ethernet or wireless access to the network with additional ports located in the lounges and study areas. The campus network provides accounts, email services, and Internet access. The College has high-speed Internet access (over T1 lines). Students are expected to bring their own computer and laptop.


Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences

The Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences

The Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences, a collaborative project with UC Davis, the Desert Research Institute, The RAND Corporation, and Carnegie Mellon University, broke ground in May 2005 and opened in October 2006. The facility provides an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to associate with and study under some of the leading scientists in the fields of environmental science and environmental policy.

 

Incline Village Recreation Center

Incline Village Rec CenterStudents are welcome to use Lake Tahoe's finest fitness complex, the Incline Village Recreation Center. The 37,000 square foot, first-class gym boasts a wide variety of activities for all interests. Just a a short walk from campus, students may use the exercise equipment, indoor swimming pool, and ball courts. With a myriad of activities and fitness classes available, it is the perfect place for your particular workout. The Recreation Center is open Monday through Friday from 6:00am - 9:00pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00am - 8:00pm.

 

 

Dining Facilities

Patterson Hall Dining

Our dining program has been designed with you in mind. Flexibility, varied hours and a choice of dining locations will all enable you to find the perfect place at the perfect time. The Patterson Hall dining facility provides students with a wide selection of meals and snacks daily. Located in the TCES, the Redfield Cafe offers a wide variety of express sandwiches and salads, as well as your favorite espresso drinks and proudly  brews Peet's Coffee. Join our frequent buyer's club for the opportunity to win free Eagle Dollars. Eagle Dollars can be used at both Redfield Cafe and Patterson Hall.


BookstoreEvelyn and Rodney Smallwood Campus Bookstore

Located on the first floor of Prim Library, the Evelyn and Rodney Smallwood Campus Bookstore carries textbooks and related materials for SNC classes, insignia items, school and office supplies, art supplies, gift items and snacks.
