Sierra Nevada College has one of the best environments for outdoor and winter pursuits in the country. The campus is nestled in Lake Tahoe, near some of the biggest ski resorts in North America with an average of 30 feet of snow per year.
The campus is surrounded by the Lake and national forests, as well as pristine wilderness areas. SNC athletes have a unique opportunity to take advantage of amazing skiing and riding conditions on the greatest terrain in the west. Through out the year, students can also pursue other outdoor endeavors such as backpacking, rockclimbing, mountain biking, wakeboarding and river rafting. The college athletic program focuses on promoting the ski and snowboard teams as well an evolving outdoor adventure program. Our goal of being the “best” at what our environment offers can be seen with the success of our ski and snowboards team, and the growing demand for our outdoor program. Our backyard is a great playground and SNC students take advantage of it every day.
